LPE offers full life-cycle forensic services using the lab facilities through our partnership with the University of Surrey, Centre of Advanced Materials. Meet the Head of Our Forensic Engineering & Expert Witness Practice
Dr. Mohammad K. Hosseini (PhD, CEng, CSci, FIMMM, FICorr, MAE) leads London Petrotech’s Forensic Engineering and Expert Witness services. With over 24 years of experience in materials engineering, corrosion science, and complex failure investigation, he provides independent, evidence‑based technical opinions for disputes, insurance claims, and international arbitration.
He has acted as a Single Joint Expert, party‑appointed expert, and independent forensic investigator on matters involving subsea pipeline ruptures, offshore wind turbine component failures, cargo ship hull defects, heat‑exchanger tube failures, and metallurgical failures in critical infrastructure. His work includes metallurgical examination, laboratory testing oversight, corrosion and erosion modelling, flow assurance analysis, and structured RCFA using BS EN 62740, CTM, and Fishbone methodologies.
Dr. Hosseini is fully experienced and compliant with CPR Part 35, Technology and Construction Court (TCC) requirements, and The Academy of Experts (TAE) guidelines, ensuring his reports and conduct meet the standards expected in litigation, arbitration, and insurance dispute resolution. A Chartered Engineer and Chartered Scientist, he is a Fellow of both IOM3 and ICorr, a Full Member of The Academy of Experts, and holds NACE/AMPP Corrosion Specialist credentials, ICorr CP certifications, and API 571/580 qualifications. He provides clear, impartial, and legally defensible expert reports for solicitors, insurers, loss adjusters, and arbitration panels.
